One of the things that struck me about North Dakota was how flat the terrain was. And of course, the frigid cold! But the summers of North Dakota are the best summers I have ever experienced in my life, with its perfect 80 degrees and serene green landscape. One summer, as I was driving through the empty plains of the state, my eyes caught an image of inspiration. I pulled over, took out my camera, and captured a photograph I think is indicative of the North Dakota experience: the numerous Native American reservations pervasive throughout the state; the wind turbines prickled across the expansive plains; the serene green that makes its rare presence known one month of the year up in the midwest states. No snow here! Just the sunny patience wrought after long white winter months.
